The Diamond Dove is the smallest pigeon in Australia. They are timid and shy, so you might not notice them.

They are not endangered, and live in pairs or small flocks that live in the open spaces of most of Australia. The mainly eat grass seeds.

It is difficult to tell the males and females apart, but the females are said to have eye surrounds that are more brown than the bright pink of the males.

They breed successfully in our aviary.
